The test takes approximately 60 minutes to complete and consists of:
1. Adaptive Test (45 minutes)
This is the scored portion of the exam. The difficulty of the test adjusts in real-time based on your responses. It includes a mix of:
- Reading & Listening: Identify words, complete sentences, choose correct words.
- Speaking: Describe an image, respond to a prompt, speak after listening to audio.
- Writing: Short descriptive and extended response questions.
2. Writing & Speaking Sample (10 minutes)
This unscored section includes:
- A video response (speaking sample) recorded on a topic.
- A written sample, both of which are sent to institutions along with your score.
